Vision Statement
Because the Kingdom of God is advancing we expect to grow. We believe that everyone in KC is called to reach out to his or her world of influence. As people respond to Jesus, we disciple them in community, and train them to live for Jesus. As it becomes clear how the Holy Spirit has equipped each believer, we train, mature and again grow. As we continue to grow we see that we will plant congregations in our neighborhoods, and continue to see people saved, trained, and released to ministry. Everyone participates with their spiritual gift, for example, leaders with zeal, servants with works, givers with generosity (Rom 12:3-8, 1 Cor. 12: 4-11).
We hope it is true to say, that because of KINGSCROSS, Perth is an even better place.
The way we are going to do this is...
- To prepare a community of believers
- Who live for Jesus
- Making disciples of all nations
- For the glory of God and the joy of all people
- 'To prepare a community of believers': We are a community preparing to meet our King, Jesus. We are united by faith in Jesus, not by our nationality, language, or other. We have been redeemed to God and man. This is seen in a counter-cultural community of believers who believe that they are in the world but not of the world, and that they humbly live for the benefit of others, as they live for Jesus.
- 'Who live for Jesus': Jesus is the source of our life, and our longing. He is the head of the church, the King of the Kingdom. We seek to become more like Him, seeing His will become our will, His ways become our ways, His mission become our mission.
- 'Making disciples of all nations': When Jesus was passing His mission onto His disciples, He did not leave them wondering what they should do. He made it very clear that they should go and make disciples of all nations. The mission has not changed. We want to promote and participate in the Gospel, the grace of salvation. Discipleship means more than a testimony. After someone accepts the Gospel and is baptised, they need to be helped along the journey; learning what the Word of God says, how to pray, how to keep in step with the Spirit, their place in the body of Christ - this is all part of discipleship. We want people to discover the joy of knowing Christ, fellowship with His people, and the assurance of their salvation.
- 'For the glory of God and the joy of all people': The glory of God and the joy of man are intertwined, as the Westminster Catechism says, 'the chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever'. We will never experience more joy, then living for the glory of God
