Small Groups
WE SEEK TO DISCIPLE PEOPLE THROUGH VARIOUS SMALL GROUPS
KINGSCROSS desires to be a community that reflects God’s Kingdom rule in our time, and our city. We do this by promoting Kingdom cultures through incarnational living (living like Jesus). This starts off in the local church, where we begin to live with selfless love, genuine purity, generosity, celebration, and unity. Jesus said ‘I will build my church’ (Matthew 16:18), Jesus gave the local church, he gave leaders, he gave gifts, and he gave us discipleship.
POST NOTE: (We trust that as we disciple well, we will grow the local church and plant many churches and congregations with Christians who are well discipled, known for being loving, pure, generous, celebrating, and keeping unity.)
COMMUNITY GROUPS
Where truth becomes life. Diverse people unite around the Word, praise, prayer, and fellowship, to discuss what God has been saying to the church and how they are getting on with it.
These groups are excellent at offering real Christian community and family, support in life's ongoing journey, and encouragement to live for Jesus. In these groups no one is expected to be perfect, but it helps to be real.
DISCIPLESHIP GROUPS
These groups are built on relationship and gift recognition. Someone who is 'further down the road' reaches back to help others on their journey. Someone with wisdom reaches in to offer wisdom. Someone who is accomplished in a certain field offers training to those who are growing in the same way. We see this taught by Paul in Titus 2. We seek to disciple those who God has brought to KINGSCROSS. This happens in a more distinct way, either in a group of like people (e.g. entrepreneurs, men, woman etc), or one on one.
LIFE GROUPS
Everyday people are facing situations and making decisions. Often, we could benefit from perspective, relationship, and prayer. These groups are not organized; they start organically in response to the changing dynamics of life. They are simple but profound, and can last for a moment or a lifetime. They can happen in homes, coffee shops, work, on the phone or any means of communication. While we do not start these groups, we encourage people to reach out for perspective, relationship, and prayer.
INTEREST GROUPS
These are groups that start because of a common interest. This may be moms who gather to pray for their children, people who come together to study a book, athletes who put together a sports team for a season, and the list goes on endlessly. These are great groups to feed our interest, but they cannot take the place of Community Groups, Discipleship Groups, or Life Groups.
